The Global Health Case Competition (GHCC) at PMAC 2026 unites undergraduate and graduate students from around the world to tackle real-world global health challenges and design innovative, equitable, and sustainable solutions.
Under the theme “Redesigning Tomorrow: Youth for Equitable Health in a Changing Demographic World”, this year’s GHCC amplifies youth voices in shaping adaptive health systems for aging societies, migration dynamics, and a transforming global landscape.
Hosted as an official PMAC 2026 Side Meeting, GHCC provides a global stage for multidisciplinary learning, cross-cultural collaboration, and youth-driven innovation in health systems design. Students apply systems thinking, data-driven policy analysis, and creativity to address the case theme.
The Global Health Case Competition (GHCC) is an international student event that brings together multidisciplinary teams to analyze and propose solutions to pressing global health challenges. The 2026 competition marks the 3rd edition of GHCC at the Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC), continuing its tradition of fostering innovation and collaboration among youth.
GHCC provides a unique platform for students to engage with complex demographic and health system issues, cultivate critical thinking, and propose actionable solutions grounded in equity and sustainability. The competition empowers the next generation of leaders to contribute to the global health dialogue at PMAC 2026.
Teams of 4–6 undergraduate students from diverse academic backgrounds analyze a real-world case rooted in demographic transitions. The process includes a written submission, slide deck, and live presentations for finalist teams.
The competition is hosted by the Siriraj Global Health Club (SIGHC), a student-led initiative of Siriraj Medical Students, under the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. It is organized as an official PMAC 2026 Side Meeting, with guidance and mentorship from faculty advisors and collaboration with international partners in global health education and policy.
Beyond the competition itself, GHCC develops student competencies in policy analysis, systems thinking, and cross-cultural teamwork, while amplifying youth perspectives in shaping equitable health systems worldwide.
